    Low-voltage motive batteries commonly operate at 36V, 48V, 60V or 72V and are used in golf carts, sightseeing vehicles, forklifts, electric three-wheelers and similar equipment. Passenger EVs and electric trucks generally use high-voltage battery platforms operating at 300V or above.

    Because their voltage levels and vehicle architectures differ, low-voltage systems typically have a simpler electrical protection architecture. High-voltage EV batteries require additional safeguards such as high-voltage insulation monitoring, interlock circuits and comprehensive electrical isolation.

  • Q. How should marine and RV batteries be charged and stored?

    Charging voltage and current must suit the battery technology and capacity, whether energy comes from an alternator, shore charger or solar system. Before seasonal storage, fully charge the battery, disconnect parasitic loads and periodically check its state of charge.

  • Q. How is a marine or RV battery bank sized?

    Sizing should consider system voltage, daily energy consumption, peak loads, required runtime, permitted depth of discharge, temperature, reserve capacity and available charging time. Capacity alone does not confirm whether a battery can support the complete duty cycle.

    Starting batteries deliver a short burst of high current for engine cranking. Deep-cycle batteries provide energy over longer periods and withstand repeated discharge. Dual-purpose batteries balance both characteristics for applications requiring starting and auxiliary power from the same battery.

    Provide the equipment types, target market, existing battery reference, dimensions, terminal polarity, required CCA, preferred technology, operating climate, expected annual volume and any certification, packaging or branding requirements.
