  • Q. How do I choose the right battery for a commercial vehicle?

    Start with the vehicle's electrical architecture and approved fitment, then assess cranking requirements, battery capacity, reserve capacity, daily start frequency, engine-off loads, recharge time, vibration exposure and operating temperature. A long-haul truck with parking air conditioning needs a different battery profile from a starting-focused construction vehicle or a short-route delivery van.

  • Q. What information is needed for a product recommendation or quotation?

    Provide the target market, vehicle application, required battery technology, fitment standard, capacity, CCA, dimensions, terminal layout, expected annual volume and any certification or private-label requirements.

  • Q. What affects automotive battery service life?

    Temperature, charging voltage, driving patterns, electrical loads, discharge history, battery location and vehicle energy-management settings all influence service life. Extended undercharging and sustained high temperatures are particularly damaging.


  • Q. What is the difference between a starter battery and an auxiliary battery?

    A starter battery is primarily designed to deliver high current for engine cranking. An auxiliary battery supports secondary electrical loads or backup functions. Their performance requirements and physical formats may differ, so they should not be treated as interchangeable.

  • Q. Can an EFB battery be upgraded to AGM?

    An EFB battery may be upgraded to AGM when the physical fitment, charging system and vehicle manufacturer's requirements allow it. An AGM-equipped vehicle should not normally be downgraded to EFB or conventional flooded technology.

  • Q. Can a conventional MF battery be installed in a Start-Stop vehicle?

    No. A conventional flooded starter battery is not designed for the repeated cycling and charge-acceptance demands of a Start-Stop system. Installing the wrong technology can shorten battery life and affect system performance.

  • Q. What is the difference between AGM and EFB batteries?

    AGM batteries generally support more demanding Start-Stop systems, higher electrical loads, stronger cycling and partial-state-of-charge operation. EFB batteries provide enhanced performance over conventional flooded batteries for standard Start-Stop applications.
